Neuroma/Morton's

Neuroma/Morton's is soft mass tissue that forms between the metatarsals at the ball of the foot, caused by pinching of a nerve between two metatarsal bones when they rub together. If you suffer from Neuroma/Morton's, are looking for causes and/or treatment of Neuroma/Morton's, or just have general information about the topic you would like to share, please participate in this post.

  1. I have been diagnosed as to having Morton's Neuroma. I call it corpal tunnel of the foot because it is the same thing. The foot is constructed similar to the hand. The nerve, that is located between the 3rd and 4th appendige (toe or finger), gets pinched causing burning sensation in those appendages. When it happens it gets rather painful. A wide shoe along with an orthodic helps. Everything I have read says don't get the surgery as it is 90% ineffective. Has anybody out there had any other succes in a cure. I am buying a second orthodic as I were several different pairs of shoes and don't want to have to keep changing the devices every time I change shoes.

  2. Prefabricated, off the shelf orthotics would not provide the proper resolution for your Morton's Neuroma. We would recommend a pair of custom fitted orthotics with a Neuroma or metatarsal pad. These types of accommodations gently raise the metatarsals, dispersing pressure and alleviating pain, giving time for the nerve to heal.

Podiatrists (foot doctors) normally charge between $300-$600 for a pair of custom fitted orthotics. Foot Shapers provides the same high quality product at a fraction of the price. For more information on Foot Shapers custom fitted orthotics, please visit our website at www.footshapers.com.
